Paul Booth CBE, was Chairman of SABIC UK Petrochemicals and  European Director of Government Policy. Paul served as Honorary President of the Charity SCI.

 

He worked in the chemical industry for 40 years – including 32 years with Imperial Chemicals Industry (ICI) and 7 years with Huntsman.

Paul started his career as an apprentice with ICI. He worked for Nylon, Polyester, Petrochemicals and service sectors. He has significant global experience and worked in Europe and the USA.

 

He served a number of non-executive positions outside SABIC.

 

He is a Member of the CIA Council and Chairman of the North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC). He serves as Chairman and one of the industrialists on the new Tees Valley Unlimited Local Enterprise Partnership and Board Member for Plastics Europe North.

 

He serves on the Board of Governors for Teesside University and was a Member of Redcarand Cleveland Technical College, TTE Technical Training Group and The National Skills Academy Process Industries.

 

He is a Member of the Chemical Industry Association Council and also as a Member of the National Chemical Growth Strategy Partnership as a Principal Advisor to the British Government.

 

Paul was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to the Chemical Process Industry in the New Year’s Honours List of 2013 and received the award of Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2021.
