John Glen was Chief Executive Officer of the Buccleuch Estates, Ltd. (alternate name, Buccleuch Group). Buccleuch, owned by His Grace Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, is the largest private landowner in the UK. 

 

Previously, John served as Group Chief Financial Officer of the French multinational company Air Liquide S.A. He has had extensive experience across a number of sectors including household products and foods, working in the UK, Germany and the US.

 

He held various positions at Unilever.  He has been extensively engaged in the development and implementation of international accounting standards as Vice Chairman of the European Financial Reporting Group (EFRAG).

 

He has been an Independent Director of Societe BIC, (alternate name BIC Group) S.A. since December 10, 2008 and subsequently Global Chairman.

 

He is a Non-Executive Director of Reform Scotland and Chair of Natural Capital. John is a graduate of Edinburgh University with a Master’s Degree in Economics. John is also a qualified Certified Accountant.
